This video is sped up, your walk should be normal pace, one you would do if there was no band. The strides are just much shorter. GLUTE ACTIVATION Keep the resistance in the band (proud to say I needed the heaviest band I had) and take small steps for a length of 5-10meters and then walk back to the start. You can make the distance longer, but I didn't have the room in the gym. I already jumped in whilst someone was resting, so hogged as much space as I could 😂. I performed 10, 20 & a final 10 lengths (forward and back = 1), after which my glutes were certainly burning. Sports and athletes which are lacking any activation of the posterior chain should definitely begin with this exercise. You will find dancers spend a lot of time in the preparation phase (30degrees hip and knee flexion) which predominantly works the anterior chain. They must be here to exert as much power as possible through any leaps and jumps during their performance. A progressive set - HIIT class. Could you do it? The idea is to only shake off the legs between each set (maximum). So no actual break until after the skaters. Remember jump jacks are not star jumps, they are similar by design, but you jump the legs out and back in one jump. Feet return to their starting position, without having touched the floor in between. There all sorts of ways to play around with this routine. From adding exercises, adding a round, removing even the leg shake, increasing rep ranges, using various exercises which could include the upper body and so on....
