Worked up to a 3RM of 85kg three days ago, then did AMRAP at 75% - and my butt STILL HURTS. Admittedly I did all the squats and the lunges the next day. . It feels good. Being injured for so long means it’s been a while since my legs ached this bad. I managed 8 reps at 62.5kg here. Really thought I’d manage more 🙈 . Followed by some 15cm and 30cm single-leg box jumps, Nordic curls breakfast 😬 you have no idea how excited I am about being able to hop and squat and lunge. Something I often do is watching athletes and wanting to pull the same weight they pull right away. I’ve come to match that passion with practice. After being in this for some time, I’ve come to understand that there’s a process. That Rome wasn’t built in a day. I watch @casey_acree a thousand times and get inspired every time. But I can’t pull 100kg on a squat snatch on day 1. One week on figuring out how to land the bar on my limb for the squat snatch, and making some progress. Also, thinking of getting me some lifting shoes thanks to @mcolellasu ‘s advice. What’s your favorite lifting shoe? 👞🤔

Incline Bench Press: 57,5kg 3x8 👌 Sleep and schedule is a bit all over the place. However we gotta make it work. Luckily it was a lighter volume day and tomorrow will be complete rest to refuel for next weeks training. I was absolutely drained after yesterday's lower body session. 🍑 Squats!!!🍑 Although the humble squat may seem like a simple exercise, it’s actually one of the most effective exercises for increasing overall strength, flexibility and power. Adding weight to your squat can help to turbo charge this exercise by not only engaging almost every muscle in your lower body, but also improving core strength and increasing the production of anabolic hormones which translate into increased strength in other parts of the body too. While squatting heavy should be an important part of your weekly routine, it’s important not to sacrifice form in favour of higher weight. I see so many people in the gym loading up the bars with hundreds of Kilos, only for their form and depth to suffer. Good form is: ✅Feet hip width apart with toes pointed slightly outwards ✅Hips come below the knees ✅Knees pushed out so they stay in line with the toes ✅Core tight and spine neutral ✅Heels stay flat on the floor throughout Start with a lower weight and ensure your form is spot on! From here you can slowly start to add weight each week.
