I entered the year hearing about the deaths of the loved ones of so many people. Just a few moments ago I heard about the sudden unexpected death of a former colleague of mine. This friend was maybe a couple of years older than me. He was at work and he felt ill. He was rushed to the hospital and just like that we passed away. I pray for him and his family just as I pray for the families of friends who have encountered losses. It’s moments like these that we are jolted back to the reminder that life is short. My colleague woke up this morning unaware that that was going to be his last sunrise for it’s true that death comes like a thief in the night. And whether we are prepared or not, one thing is an absolute truth. One day, death will come for each and every one of us. This becomes a reminder for us that the perfect time is never tomorrow. It is always now. If you’ve been postponing something better to do it now. If you have a dream, do it now. If you want to go somewhere, go now. If you want to love, do it now. And this applies a thousand percent more for relationship matters. Now is the best time to say sorry. Now is the best time to forgive. Now is the best time to say I appreciate you. Now is the best time to say I support you. Now is the best time to say I love you. Because if you think it’s not yet the right time, I’m telling you it is. Because now is what you’re given. Tomorrow, you’re not yet sure. So live life in the now. Love in the now. It’s the only way to live. #mirandism

Our dreams are the stuff our life is made of. Our dreams are as countless and as distinct as we are. Hence pursuing them should be one of the most important tasks of our lives. Over coffee me and my friends were discussing our respective dreams. Specifically how last year we each went out of our comfort zones and do the things we wanted to do without fear of judgement. You see something amazing happens when you do something that you want that’s outside your comfort zone. You slay your biggest opponent which is your inner critic. That inner voice that tells you that maybe you’re not good enough or maybe you’ll be humiliated. But guess what? When you conquer this inner voice you emerge a victor and when you learn to slay this dragon, that probably constitutes one of the biggest successes in your life. Win your life. Tell your inner critic to shut up today! #mirandism

I just landed in Manila and I had the intriguing pleasure to sit beside a guy from Maryland. He’s a 50 year old Filipino with dreadlocks, has a Rastafarian spirit, has a Harley helmet and is bedecked by tattoos. He shared to me his story about his corporate life and how he suddenly got hooked into gambling causing him to lose all his accumulated wealth. However when he hit rock bottom he realized his life was no longer for him. He changed his materialistic life for a simple life of sharing reggae music and riding around in his Harley. He is currently on his way to Cebu to help set up a music foundation. If you see this guy with his dreadlocks you would h think that he was a corporate dude before but even at late 40s he reinvented himself. I asked him if he was afraid of the reinvention. He said that as long as we are alive we have chances to reinvent ourselves. If you feel you’re stuck in a life you don’t want. Reinvent yourself. Change something. Pursue what you want. Remember that the spirit of reinvention has no limits. Do it as often as you need. Because the good news is that if you are the inventor of your life. Edit it. Change it all you want. The power is yours! #mirandism
